This is about one the greatest success stories of all time and the co-founder of Whatsapp Inc., Jan Koum. ?????

Jan was born in Ukraine during 1976 where he and his family experienced political unrest and religious persecution. This left them no choice but to migrate from Europe to America with his mother. ????

During his high school days he took up a job at a grocery store cleaning floors and his mother became a babysitter. His father decided to join them in America but he died five years later after getting sick. With their hopes of reuniting with his father gone, his mother was diagnosed with cancer and died three years later. ????

He self taught himself everything about computers by reading books and manuals. His interest in computers increased as he quit College and went onto work full time at Yahoo. He used his free time to work on Whatsapp but only looked at it as a hobby. ????????

At 31, he quit Yahoo and applied to work at Facebook but was turned down. Two years later, he bought an Iphone and realized that the market for messaging apps was enormous so he decided to turn his hobby into a living. He launched Whatsapp with his partner by age 33 and later Facebook bought Whatsapp for $19.3 billion. From being turned down for a job at Facebook to selling his own app to them.
