This is the infamous legendary story of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time, Howard Schultz. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon right away, in fact his family was very poor.
When he was 7, he came home to find his father’s leg fractured and out of his construction job. He then received an athletic scholarship to the university of Michigan but he decided not to play sports upon admission.
He went onto take on many “odd” jobs to support himself through college which included bartender, a job at a ski lodge and also in sales. He was so broke at one point that he had to sell his blood just to make ends meet.
The first time he pitched his idea for a global coffee place franchise, everybody laughed at him but he believed in himself and never gave up. After a long search, he found some investors who got on board with his idea and he turned that idea into an $84 billion business. As of 2008 that is 10 years into the business, the stores had grown into 16,680 places worldwide.
